With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I decided for the first time ever to make chocolate chip banana bread! But, I wanted to make little mink heart shaped ones with my Wilton whoopee pie pan, so they’re more like muffins.

3 ripe bananas
1/3 cup applesauce
1 1/4 cups flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter, softened
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup mini chocolate chips
Mash the bananas in a small bowl and set aside.
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, and set aside.
In a large bowl cream butter and sugar well. Add the eggs, bananas, and applesauce, mix well.
Fold in chocolate chips with spoon. Don’t over mix.
Put two tablespoons of batter into each heart shaped well.
Bake at 325 for 20 minutes.
